CONCENTIZATION PROGRAMME : "NATIONAL ARMY DAY"

Concentization is the process of developing a critical awareness of one’s social reality through reflection and action.  Action is fundamental because it is the process of changing the reality.  Paulo Freire who is the person behind the concept of concentization says that, we all acquire social myths which have a dominant tendency, and so learning is a critical process which depends upon uncovering real problems and actual needs.

We provided an awareness programme  for the secondary school students in the Govt Model Boys High School, Thevally, Kollam on January 12th Friday.  The prime aim of us was to provide an awareness regarding the importance of celebrating ,NATIONAL ARMY DAY’ which has been celebrating every year on January 15^th. It is celebrated to pay homage and salute to the courageous and brave Indian soldiers who have been sacrificed their lives for protecting the country. Indian Army General Kodandera Madappa Cariappa was succeeded the British Army General Roy Butcher and became the first Commander-in-Chief of the independent India.

Indian Army soldiers are always ready to fight with all the hard times at Indian borders as well as with the natural disasters. They courageously face all the challenges and difficulties come their way to save the nation and people. . Indian army plays a great and big role during the disaster situations in the country as they are dedicated to the country to become the War Winning Team. The day was decided to be celebrated as the army day in India to start paying tribute to the sacrificed Indian army soldiers at the “Amar Jawan Jyoti” at India Gate in New Delhi.

My aim was to provide a critical awareness regarding the importance of respecting our army force for keeping our life safe by sacrificing their own . Thus, provided an introductory session regarding "National Army Day" and its importance then presented a paper which entitled as " The Real Heroes Of Our Nation". Then a video which revealed the real life challenges of  Army Man. After the awareness programme feedback was collected from the students moreover, a poster competition was conducted as feedback.
